3.1 About tourism sector

a. Project on Citadel of the Ho Dynasty

(Pursuant to Decision No. 1495/QD-TTg dated 26 August, 2013 by the Prime Minister approving the assignment of preparing Master Plan on conservation and promotion of values of Citadel of the Ho Dynasty and its vicinity aligned with tourism development).

            1. Location: in Vinh Long and Vinh Tien communes, Vinh Loc district, Thanh Hoa province;

            2. Investment objectives: To conserve and renovate Citadel of the Ho Dynasty to honor its global outstanding values as the World Cultural Heritage and to develop a special cultural – historical tourism product in the North Central region;

            3. Tourism resources: The Citadel construction represents a new development of architectural technology and urban planning in an East Asian and South-East Asian context. This tourism site includes Nam Giao Altar, tangible and intangible cultural heritages and its poetic natural landscape;

            4. Scope: 5,078.5ha;

            5. Functional areas: This Citadel is composed of the Inner Citadel, La Thanh Outer Wall and the Nam Giao Altar, surrounded by a buffer zone (festival areas, tourism services in Dun mountain, supporting area, public area, green area,...).

           

b. Project on Lam Kinh historical relic

(Pursuant to Decision No. 120/QD-UBND dated 9 January 2013 by the Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee approving Planning of Lam Kinh historical relic – scale 1/2000).

1. Location: Xuan Lam commune (Tho Xuan district) and Kien Tho commune (Ngoc Lac district), Thanh Hoa province;

2. Investment objectives: Invest in tourism services to advertise the historical, cultural and ecological values of Lam Kinh historical relic to help it become the tourism center in the West of Thanh Hoa province;

3. Tourism resources: include Lam Kinh main temple with many unique structures considered as the second capital of the post-Le Dynasty; ecological resources of lakes, rivers and community culture;

4. Scope: 300 ha;

5. Functional areas: Commercial center, local cultural tourism site, entertainment area, resorts, resettlement and residential area; forest area.

 

c. Project on Ham Rong tourism site

(Pursuant to Decision No. 396/QD-TTg dated 5 March, 2013 by the Prime Minister approving Master Plan on preservation, renovation and promotion of values of Ham Rong cultural-historical site).

1. Location: Ham Rong ward, Thanh Hoa city, Thanh Hoa province;

2. Investment objectives: To promote its cultural, historical and ecological values for tourism development;

3. Tourism resources: This is a big cultural-historical museum, considered as the symbol of revolutionary heroism and indomitable spirit of Vietnamese people. This includes diversified natural scenic spots such as: Kim Quy (Golden Turtle God) lake, Long Quang (Dragon Eyes) cave; Dong Son ancient village; Ham Rong (Dragon Jaw) bridge, Ma river,...;

4. Scope: 562 ha;

5. Functional areas: Archaeological site, stone carving museum, entertainment area, conference area, botanical garden, showroom area for ethnic culture, luxury hotels and restaurants.

 

d. Project on Quang Cu eco-tourism site

(Pursuant to Decision No. 1421/QD-UBND dated 4 May 2013 by the Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee approving the adjusted Planning of Quang Cu eco-tourism site in Sam Son town – scale 1/2000).

1. Location: Quang Cu commune, Sam Son town, Thanh Hoa province;

2. Investment objectives: To establish a high-end eco-tourism site with diversified tourism types and products;

3. Tourism resources: Situated in the coastal area in the North of Sam Son town with pristine ecological environment, this site is very suitable for eco-tourism development. In addition, it is surrounded by a series of famous relics such as: Truong Le mountain, Doc Cuoc temple, Fairy temple, An Duong Vuong King temple; Luong Trung pagoda;

4. Scope: 432 ha;

5. Functional areas: Golf course, resorts, entertainment area, hotels, Ma river eco-tourism site, community culture tourism area; urban residential area.

 

e. Project on Truong Le mountain eco-cultural tourism site

(Pursuant to Decision No. 254/QD-UBND dated 24 January 2005 by the Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee approving the Detailed Planning of Truong Le mountain eco-cultural site in Sam Son town).

1. Location: Sam Son town;

2. Investment objectives: To establish a center of culture, entertainment, sightseeing, eco-tourism in Sam Son town to bridge space between the North and the South of Sam Son town;

3. Tourism resources: Owning a beautiful landscape, this area is chosen to locate villas by King Bao Dai. Other national-ranking relics are well conserved such as: Cock and Hen stone, Fairy temple, Doc Cuoc temple,...;

4. Scope: 230 ha;

5. Functional areas: ethnic cultural exchange areas; human ecology area, natural eco-tourism area (Reptile Park), traditional fishing village area.

 

f. Project on Hai Hoa beach

(Pursuant to Decision No. 665/2006/QD-UBND dated 13 March 2006 by the Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee approving the adjusted and supplemented Detailed Planning of beach resorts in Hai Hoa and Ninh Hai communes, Tinh Gia district).

1. Location: Hai Hoa commune, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province;

2. Investment objectives: To develop a world-class public service center, resort, eco-tourism and entertainment area in Hai Hoa beach;

3. Tourism resources: This pristine beach can be linked with Nghi Son economic zone to become an economic and tourism center. There are some other scenic spots such as: Nghi Son beach and its islands; Do Xuyen fishing village, Truong Lam cave, Lach Bang temple, Tinh Hai fort...;

4. Scope: 154 ha;

5. Functional areas: luxury hotels, international conference area, sports area, restaurants, beach resort complex.

 

Project on Ma Hao waterfall tourism site

(Pursuant to Decision No. 2609/QD-UBND dated 14 August 2014 by the Provincial People’s Committee approving the assignment of preparing the Planning on Ma Hao waterfall tourism site): now under planning process.

1. Location: Tri Nang commune, Lang Chanh district;

2. Investment objectives: To develop an eco-tourism site with unique cultural experiences of Thai ethnic groups in Thanh Hoa province;

3. Tourism resources: beautiful waterfalls, pristine forest with diversified ecology, traditional festivals of “gong”, “khua luong”; traditional rattan weaving, brocade weaving, making of Thai traditional musical instruments.

4. Scope: 52 ha;

5. Functional areas: resorts, tourism service center, community culture tourism area.

 

g. Project on Cam Luong fish stream tourism site

(Pursuant to Decision No.2160/QD-UBND dated 9 July 2014 by the Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee approving the Detailed Planning on Cam Luong fish stream tourism site – scale 1/2000).

1. Location: Communes of Cam Luong, Cam Thanh, Cam Thach in Cam Thuy district, Thanh Hoa province;

2. Investment objectives: To develop an attractive ecological, cultural tourism site with traditional ethnic identities;

3. Tourism resources: This is an unique tourism site aligned with legend of holy fish stream. Other famous relics in this site include Ngoc temple, Cay Dang temple, Luong Ngoc traditional village;

4. Scope: 300 ha;

5. Functional areas: Reception area, Thung Ong resort, camping area, Thung Ngan climbing area, Cam Luong fish stream, Rong (Dragon) pagoda spiritual tourism area, festival and entertainment area, Kim Mam lake food court; Thung Man – Thung May eco-tourism sites and climbing area.

h. Project on eco-tourism development in Xuan Lien nature reserve

(Pursuant to Decision No. 4168/QD-UBND dated 12 December 2012 by the Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee approving the Planning on eco-tourism development in Xuan Lien nature reserve by 2020).

1. Location: Communes of Bat Mot, Yen Nhan, Luong Son, Xuan Cam and Van Xuan, Thuong Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province;

2. Investment objectives: To explore and develop the Xuan Lien nature reserve’s potential tourism in terms of scenic spots, religion, cultural identities of different ethnic groups and diversified biology; to improve the physical and mental lives of local people, enhance the local economic structure transition;

3. Tourism resources: This is a large well-reserved natural forest area with 752 diversified plants; beautiful caves and waterfalls, such as Mu 7-storey waterfall, Fairy waterfall, Bat cave, Cau cave,...; historical and spiritual relics: spiritual relics worshipping the Mother, Cam Ba Thuoc celebrity; traditional festivals and unique culture of Thai and Muong ethnic groups;

4. Scope: 23,475 ha;

5. Functional areas: reception, eco-tourism and resort area, rescuing and grazing half-wild animal area; forest model exhibition; luxury resorts.
